While many requests fall within our guidelines and certainly merit support, The Sprott Foundation is only able to make grant awards to a limited number of organizations each year. Grants are only made to organizations that are recognized by Canada Revenue Agency as a Canadian Registered Charity. The organization must have a Business Number/Registration Number. Furthermore, The Sprott Foundation will not consider organizations that do not fit with our mandate, multiple solicitations (mass mail) or applications sent by fax, e-mail or phone inquiries. Please note that no response will be given to organizations who propose grants in these manners or to those who do not fit with our mandate. As The Sprott Foundation has a limited staff, please be certain that you are a qualified candidate before applying.
The Sprott Foundation does not provide grants for:
• Operating Expenses
• Salaries
• Research
• Deficit Reduction
• Seminars
• Tours
• Conferences
• Travel Expenses
• Activities previously supported through government funding
• Sabbatical leaves or student exchanges
• Religious or Political Organizations
• Individuals
Please note that we cannot consider requests from any foreign destinations, unless there is a formal link with a registered Canadian charity.
